Student Wellbeing

At St. Gabriel’s, we endeavour to promote an environment where the wellbeing of the students is most important.

Our Pastoral Care and Student Wellbeing programs (anchored in the Gospel values):

  • Foster the wellbeing and development of each student making the school a happy, safe and predictable environment for all.
  • The wellbeing landscape of St Gabriel's incorporates all aspects of school community life from students’ physical, intellectual, moral, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing and development to the safe and supportive environment in which they learn.

St Gabriel's Primary School sees wellbeing as fundamental to successful learning. Children and young people who are happy, confident and able to establish meaningful relationships are better placed to achieve positive learning outcomes. The Catholic school environment must provide a safe and supportive environment that contributes to positive learning outcomes and the wellbeing of students, staff and the broader community.

The school offers a variety of programs and strategies to provide a happy, safe, and predictable school environment for all students:

  • Promotion of our School Motto, “Strength & Gentleness”
  • Embedding our School Wide Expectations, “Belong, Learning and Respect”
  • The Resilience Project (Foundation - Year 6)
  • Peer Activity Leader (PAL) program
  • Buddies Program
