Introduction

St Gabriel’s Primary School is pleased to welcome you to our school website. This web site is designed to guide you through the various facets of St Gabriel's. The school has a successful tradition of parish, school and parent involvement, which has given teachers, parents and children a sense of community. We are proud to share with parents the responsibility and challenge that home and school contributes to your child’s educational journey.

St. Gabriel’s Primary school has been providing quality Catholic Education in Traralgon since 1980. Originally established under the guidance of the Brigidine Sisters, St. Gabriel’s retains the Ethos of ‘Strength and Gentleness’.

The school was established in 1980 to serve families living in the new housing estates of Traralgon West. The school began with 124 students in four portable classrooms located in the grounds of St. Michael’s Primary School in the centre of Traralgon.

In May 1981 the students and staff were relocated to the school’s present site in Rangeview Drive, Traralgon West. With the school population in 200 reaching 430 students, the school community undertook a self-funded building program to create new classrooms, a library and technology centre.

St. Gabriel's popularity over the years has seen many extensions to the school including a 6 classroom learning centre and a basketball stadium/hall as part of the Federal Government Stimulus Package completed in 2010, and renovations to the main building completed in 2015. The school is blessed with extensive and beautiful grounds designed for active play and a unique, vibrant school building where the children's work is extensively displayed.
