Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,
Here we are at the end of yet another school term. The school year seems to be flying by so quickly.
Today as a school we have had a special focus on R U OK? Day with all staff and students adding a touch of yellow and completing activities within the classroom. R U OK? Day is our National Day of Action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, 'are you OK?' and start a meaningful conversation whenever they spot the signs that someone they care about might be struggling with life.
Our staff celebrated a special morning tea and fundraising raffle which was organised by our lovely Destiny in the office. A big thank you to our Parents and Friends Group who also provided staff with a surprise in their pigeon holes and a sweet treat for each of our students.
Tomorrow we will have a Footy Colours Dress Up day. All students are invited to dress in their favourite team colours from any of the football codes. If they do not follow a footy code please feel free to dress in your favourite sports clothes.
After school supervision
A reminder that school ends at 3.20pm each day. Students are required to be picked up as close to that time as possible. Teaching staff who are on gate C are required to supervise students who are waiting for the bus. We respectfully request that children do not stay within the school grounds to play after 3.30pm.
A reminder that school finishes at 2.10pm tomorrow afternoon. We hope you have a safe and enjoyable term 3 break. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday October 2nd
Kind Regards
Michelle
Signing children in and out of school and Absentee notifications
If your child needs to leave early, or has an appointment, then parents must sign them out and back in when they return. A note is to be supplied to the classroom teacher so that they are aware of why the child is leaving and they can then record the absence. Alternatively this can be entered as PNA via PAM.
If your child is unwell, to speed up their recovery we recommend keeping your child at home until they are fully recovered.
Absentee notifications can be entered via PAM up to seven days, if you will be away longer than this you will be required to contact the office on 5174 5515.
Please note all absentee notifications must be completed via a Parent Notified Absence in PAM prior to 9.30am. If we have not received notification you will be sent a message via SMS with regards to your student/s being absent for the day you will need to phone the admin office on 5174 5515 to advise the reason why the student is absent as this is a legal requirement.
Student Lunches
St Gabriel's Uniform Shop
The St. Gabriel's Uniform shop operates Tuesday 8.15am - 9.30am and Thursday from 2pm - 4pm. Order forms are available at the school office if you are unable to attend the uniform shop during these times.
The Uniform Shop is located at the rear of the school hall off the hall foyer.
Working With Children Check
If you have recently updated your WWCC please provide a copy of your new card to the office at your earliest convenience.
If you are a volunteer providing your valued service to St Gabriel's please ensure that we have a current up to date card on file.
ST GABRIEL'S CHILD SAFETY AND WELLBEING STATEMENT
St. Gabriel's Primary School is a child safe school. We are committed to embedding a culture of Child Safety, adhering to the Victorian Child Safe Standards: Managing the Risk of Child Abuse in Schools and School Boarding Premises (Ministeral Order No. 1359). We believe that ensuring the safety of the students in our care is an integral part of who we are as a Catholic faith community. The school acts in accordance with the Ministerial Order through policies, procedures, measures and practices, staff training and, ultimately, through the strategies used in working with the students and families within our school community. We continue to maintain and develop a safe and supportive learning environment where staff are focused on engaging students in meaningful, relevant and challenging learning experiences.
If at any time you have any issues or concerns you feel you need to raise please contact our Principal: Michelle Charlton or our Child Safety Officers: Alison Phillips or Jo Quinn on 5174 5515.
