Dear Parents, Guardians & Carers,
Welcome back to term 2, we trust you all had an enjoyable Easter and holidays. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Mrs Destiny Kirkup & Mrs Kylie Pardo to our admin team. Both Destiny and Kylie will begin work next week. Sadly Mrs Jocelyn Adams will be finishing up on Friday 12th May. We wish Jos every happiness during her travels and you never know we might see her back filling in when needed.
Whilst we are only in week 2 it has already been incredibly busy with lots of events happening.
This week our Year 4 students enjoyed their time at Camp Coonawarra. They experienced many activities which included: The Flying Fox, Giant Swing, High Ropes, Hut Building to name a few.
We had 29 students represent our school at the District Cross Country on Tuesday morning which was held at Agnes Brereton Reserve. Congratulations to all those who competed. St Gabriel’s runners were very successful and we came home with the shield for winning the overall event. Further information will be sent to the families of runners who were successful at making it to the next stage.
Our Year 5 students are looking forward to their upcoming camp which is to be held in week 4: 17-19th May at Phillip Island Adventure Camp. Final communications will be sent to families over the next couple of weeks so please ensure you are checking for these.
Next week on Thursday 11th May we will be holding our annual Mother’s Day Mass at St Michael’s Church beginning at 9.30am. We’d love to see you all there. The Mother’s Day stall will be held on Friday 12th May and payment is via CDFpay. Please see the flyer in this newsletter and previous emails sent via PAM about this.
Kind Regards
Michelle

Signing children in and out of school and Absentee notifications
If your child needs to leave early, or has an appointment, then parents must sign them out and back in when they return. A note is to be supplied to the classroom teacher so that they are aware of why the child is leaving and they can then record the absence. Alternatively this can be entered as PNA via PAM.
If your child is unwell, to speed up their recovery we recommend keeping your child at home until they are fully recovered.
Absentee notifications can be entered via PAM up to seven days, if you will be away longer than this you will be required to contact the office on 5174 5515.
Please note all absentee notifications must be completed via a Parent Notified Absence in PAM prior to 9.30am. If we have not received notification you will be sent a message via SMS with regards to your student/s being absent for the day you will need to phone the admin office on 5174 5515 to advise the reason why the student is absent as this is a legal requirement.
